Clipper Blade Sharpening

Here at MSH Super Sharp, you can be assured that we have the correct knowledge, experience, and up-to-date equipment to sharpen your blades and rectify any faults that may have occurred in the past.

Your Dog Clipper Blades need to be sharp to work properly. Blades need sharpening when they start to pull on the hair or cut unevenly. It may seem strange, but sharp clippers also help you avoid cutting or tearing a dog’s skin when you are grooming it. Proper cleaning and maintenance will largely keep the blades in top working order, however, all clipper blades will eventually need to be professionally sharpened with the correct equipment.

Your Horse Clipper Blades must be sharpened if they start pulling the hair. When your blades are simply not sharp enough to cut your horses’ coats with ease, hair-pulling happens. If you notice this, you should have your blades sharpened professionally.

Horse and Cattle Blades are not guaranteed as these have to be set by the individuals and if over-tensioned this can blunt or damage the blades straight away. Its is recommended as per the manufacturer specification to oil your blades every 5 minutes depending on your make of clipper blades.

Clipper oil reduces friction, thus reducing heat, and helps the blades slice through hair without effort. It would be best if you stopped clipping to clean your blades and re-apply clipper oil every 5 minutes. Your equipment will last longer, and your horse will be comfortable and gorgeous when you finish clipping.
